It reviewed well and, perhaps most importantly, it sold well enough to convince EA to greenlight a sequel. The original Titanfall was billed as a COD killer while the latter's continued existence should serve as a clear indication that the former failed in that regard, that's not to say that it wasn't still a very good attempt.
